Who Else Hates to Damage their pedals by Sticking Velcro all over them?

Learn this one pedalboard trick and never use Velcro again!!

Hey Man,

Stompsters Drop CapIf your like me, you cringe every time you get a new pedal and the first thing you do is rip the rubber bottom off of it so you can apply Velcro. Now maybe you plan on keeping this pedal for a while, or maybe you plan on permanently adding it to your rig. But, what if your not sure? What if you want to try the pedal at a gig and still be able to return it? After adding it to your pedalboard with velcro, you won’t be able to.

The truth is:

Using standard pedalboard velcro sucks.

After you’ve damaged your pedals, they aren’t even secure! They wiggle around under your foot when you step on them, and eventually the velcro wears out. Now you have to go and buy more Velcro and it costs $30 to get enough Velcro to cover one pedalboard! PLUS when your pedals wiggle around, the patch cables attached to them also wiggle.

Did you know that one of the biggest problems of a pedalboard is signal loss? Yep, and guess what contributes to it? Worn out patch cables and bad 1/4″ connections. When your pedals wiggle around and wear out those patch cables, it contributes to signal loss, and you to have to replace your patch cables more often!

Well, After years of searching, I found a solution!

I learned a secret technique that a lot of technicians were using, but nobody was talking about. It was kind of an insider industry trick. This technique was perfect for me, because I could fully integrate a pedal into my rig, try it out at a few gigs, and return it if I needed to. Or, I could own a pedal for years, use it at gigs and on the road, and then sell it in like new condition. The best part was that the pedal really was in like new condition after using it for a long time! So what’s the secret? …Little Metal Brackets.

I know it sounds crazy, but to use this technique, you have to make little metal brackets and attach them to your pedal. Then you can flip your pedal over and screw it down! The best part is: There is absolutely no damage done to your pedal! The only problem? Making these brackets is kind of difficult. Some people make them out of bike chain links, but then it ends up costing as much as Velcro!  I couldn’t believe there wasn’t anywhere that you could buy little metal brackets to use for this. I searched and searched but I couldn’t find anything…so I decided to make something instead…

I created Stompsters Pedalboard Fasteners!

Stompsters - The Pedalboard Velcro Alternative

Stompsters (the bike chain pedalboard method)

Made out of steel, Stompsters Pedalboard Fasteners attach to your effects (FX) pedals’ existing bottom cover screws. Once attached, you flip the pedal over and screw it down to the pedalboard using the included 1/2″ screws. This makes the pedalboard extremely secure and keeps your pedals in great condition.

DIY Pedalboard FounderMy name is Isaac Slape and I developed DIYPedalboard.org. I began playing violin at the age of 2, piano at age 6, string bass at age 8, electric bass at age 12 and guitar at age 14. From playing in orchestras to jazz bands, southern rock/jam bands to neo soul and hip-hop groups, I have traveled all over the world (more than 13 different countries) playing music. Like most musicians, I am constantly buying and selling pedals to find the “perfect sound,” and I’ve lost too much money selling pedals that looked like I stuck them in the garbage disposal to get Velcro’s sticky residue off. The pedals were in good condition, but they looked horrible. Who would want to buy a pedal that looks like that? Plus, I was tired of having pedals fall off of my board because the Velcro was old so I started looking for an alternative. After years of frustration, I created Stompsters Pedalboard Fasteners.

Hear what these players had to say:

“This product will be loved by all those who hate the hassle and unreliability of Velcro.  When you are finished installing Stompsters on your pedal board, you won’t have to worry about your pedals coming loose when traveling to and from gigs.” -Don, NY

“I didn’t want to gum up my new pedals with Velcro because if I ever want to sell or trade them the price drops dramatically when you mention the pedal has Velcro. So, I tried the bike chain method and Stompsters worked for me. The installation was really easy, just unscrew the backing plate on my pedal, install the link, and screw it into my board. The supplied spacers helped to secure it. Now I can stomp on pedals all day long and they don’t move at all.” -Paul, TX

“I hate velcro. I hate the sticky residue it leaves behind after removal and I hate it when I’m on the road and a pedal falls off the board! I don’t see how you could go wrong with screws and metal brackets! I’ll be switching all my pedal boards over to Stompsters.” – Carlos, Guyana

“I had always wanted to build a pedalboard, but was never crazy about the idea of slapping Velcro on the pedals. This provided a nice solution. [I would recommend Stompsters to] anyone who is building a pedal board whether DIY or purchase from a store. Great product.” – Chad, California

When I created Stompsters Pedalboard Fasteners I did so with 3 things in mind:

  • Make something stronger than Velcro.
  • Make something that people only need to buy once.
  • Make it cheaper than Velcro.

Stompsters - The Pedalboard Velcro Alternative

Each package of Stompsters Pedalboard Fasteners comes with:

  • 20 Stompsters (four for each pedal).
  • 20 screws to screw down your pedals with.
  • 20 spacers (for larger pedals that sit up higher).

If your using velcro on your pedalboard, you could end up spending $100 or more on Velcro over the years! Other Velcro alternatives cost $30 before you can cover an entire pedalboard, and you have to buy it again when it wears out.

Now, because Stompsters don’t wear out, I usually sell one box of Stompsters for $17. This means, to cover 8-10 pedals, you would need 2 boxes…

BUT, In an effort to get the word out about Stompsters, I’ve come up with a special offer…
